FAQ
What gear do you shoot with?
I use a Canon R6 Mark II and Canon 5D Mark IV Canon Mark IV. I have a Canon RF 50mm 1.2L and 35 mm 1.4 L are my go to lenses and rarely leave my camera. I have an 85 mm f/1.8 that proves the creamiest bokeh. For those up close perfect shots of ceremonies, I use my Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L and for the wide angle group and venue shots I turn towards my 24-70 f/2.8mm lens.
How long have I been in Business?
I started my photography business officially full time in 2017, however I had been working part time as a photographer on and off to put myself through my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I have been offering sessions for over 15 years.
What is my primary style?
I would consider myself a natural light, lifestyle photographer with a hint of documentary style. I definitely would consider my edits and warm and earth toned.
FAQ Session Edition
Can I reschedule if weather is unfavorable?
We all know that the weather is unpredictable and can change at a moments notice. I try to be as flexible as I can and go with the flow with the weather and do everything in my power to reschedule if needed. However, I will not reschedule for cloudy days, a little wind, or if it had rained recently. Unless it is pouring rain during your session time, record force winds, or below freezing temperatures, we can still make your session beautiful and I won't offer reschedules.
How will my photos be delivered?
I deliver your collection through an online gallery from Pixieset. From here, you are able to download the full resolution images to your computer and phones. I always recommend saving your files in several safe locations whether that be USB, online data storage, or hard drives. I also have an add on option to purchase a USB of all of your digital files for $50.00.
How long will it take to get my photos back?
I typically try to deliver your completed gallery to you within 1-2 weeks of your session date. However, if your session falls in busy season during fall or spring, it can take up to 3 weeks to receive your gallery. How long for a wedding gallery? Keep scrolling for more details.
Where should I print my photos?
I highly recommend avoiding places like Walmart, Walgreens, Sam's, etc. You are making an investment in hiring me and those printing locations will not do your photos or my edits justice. I always recommend using a professional printing company for your memories for high quality true to color prints. Mpix.com is an affordable online option with great printing.
FAQ Wedding EDITION
Will there be a contract of the services to be provided?
Yes, absolutely. I will provide an online contract that will outline everything you need to know about the service I will provide you on your wedding day. My contract is a super simple to fill out form, but very important you understand all of its components before signing. My contract is created for your protection, and mine.
What is the payment schedule?
The retainer is due at the time of booking to reserve your date in my calendar. The remaining balance is due the week/day of your wedding. Since 2020, I prefer to receive full payment when I've showed up to work for it. In case anything happens, I prefer not to have anything but the retainer ahead of time.
Is the retainer refundable? What happens if we need to reschedule or cancel our wedding after we book with you?
The retainer is nonrefundable. All cancellations must be made in writing and signed by all contracted parties. If you fail to supply a written cancellation or cancel within two months (60 days) of the contracted date, then you're required to pay the full balance of the contract. If you need to reschedule, at least 36 weeks prior to the wedding date, a new contract will have to be completed, and at my discretion the retainer can be applied to thew new date. A new contract will be required to reflect changes. In the event that a reschedule occurs within 6 months of the original wedding date, a new retainer in the amount of $500 will be required.
Can I request certain images to be taken?
I love to have couples who give me creative freedom to capture their special day and trust me whole heartedly to capture all the special moments. However, I know that there are some shots and moments you might want to put put on my radar to pay special attention to. I would love to listen to your wishlist images and I will do everything I can to make those happen.
Do you help couples create their wedding day timeline? What planning help do you provide?
Absolutely! A wedding day timeline is the best tool to keep your day running smoothly. It helps keep me and everyone who is a part of your day on schedule. I'm an experienced wedding photographer and I can tell you just about how long each major moment will take. I like to think of your timeline as a guide and not a rigid schedule. We will go with the flow of your day, but also keep in mind everything you want to fit in and document.
Is there an extra charge if I need extra time? Should my wedding go late, will you stay?
There is an additional coverage/1 hour charge of $250.00. If your wedding party should keep going strong and you want me to hang out longer, I'm totally cool with it, as long as the additional coverage fee is paid prior to me leaving your event.
Do you include a second shooter?
My wedding package does include a second shooter and we are a dynamic duo if I do say so myself. My associate shooter has been my one and only exclusively for the past four years. She not only keeps me on schedule, my extra hands, fetches me all the things, keeps my head attached, she takes some pretty incredible photos too.
Do you offer meetings?
Absolutely! All of my wedding packages come with a prewedding consultation. This consultation is used to finalize timeline, locations, and particular wishlist requests. With the world weird, this can be in person or via video call. For my more introverted couples, we can just stick to emails too! Whatever you're comfortable with.
What happens if you are not physically able to photograph our wedding?
No one wants to think about worst case scenarios, but having a "just in case" plan is necessary. I want you to have peace of minding knowing that in the event of an emergency, if I am unable to photograph your wedding, there is a plan in place. My associate shooter has all of my wedding dates in her calendar and is ready to take the lead at any time. If for some reason she is unable to step in, I will assign substitute photographers. If worse comes to worst, you decline the substitute photographer, a partial refund will be given at the cancellation of the contract.
Do you photograph couples of the LGBTQ community?
Yes, yes, and YES! I am an ally and like to consider myself an all inclusive photographer. Your love is no less important than anyone else's and your day deserves to be documented. I hate that this is a question I've been asked. Yes, yes, yes a million times yes!
Do you offer online access to our photographs for us/our guests?
Yes! I won't share your collection with anyone but you! However, you are more than welcome to share your online gallery with all of your family and friends. Each collection has a special PIN number that will only be provided to you for download. You can simply share the gallery for people to view only or you can share the PIN with them for them to download your images. I only ask that anyone with access to your photos, print and post to social media following my guidelines of a not altering the images any any way (cropping, editing, filters), printing with a professional company, and tagging my photography business pages on social media.
Do you provide a "sneak peek" of a few images for social media?
I try to deliver a sneak peek of each wedding between 48 hours and 7 days after your event! If your wedding falls in a busy season, sneak peeks can sometimes be slower, but know how important they are to share you married your best friend so I try to get them to you in a timely manner.
How many images would you expect to deliver for our wedding? What factors influencer that number?
I always say your wedding gallery will consist of a minimum of 400 images, but truthfully, I strive to deliver at least 75-100 images per hour. Factors that may influence the number of images delivered could be anything from your wedding consisting of several locations and travel between locations, cooperation of you and your guests, or if you choose to end your wedding coverage early.
Do you photoshop out imperfections?
I'm definitely not going to let you have a giant blemish right in the middle of your forehead in your wedding photos. For a lot of reasons, I will not deliver my RAW images to clients.
